picking up the pieces

When life shatters you into a hundred thousand pieces, when death takes away family or friend and you can’t understand why.   When I am faced with challenges beyond what I think I could ever handle, I stop to sweep up the pieces put them in a box and hand them to the LORD.  For my emotions run strong and hard if I don’t and more often than not they get me down, or worse I say hurtful things.  So over the last few years I have worked really hard on reigning in my emotions (this coming from a horse person for the last 30 years).  Oh not by any means do I know how to ride, let alone train them,img_0664 but I love taking photos and love watching my husband work with them.  He has a way to make them calm down even in the most scariest of situations.  God is like that in my life, He is my calm, my rock, my protector from scary things.

So I have been writing or story telling from early on in life, blogging since 2012, and I now have been doing a lot of soul-searching, not sure if it’s because of the world we live in, if it’s because I am now 50 or because I will soon be a grandmother, but I have and its been wonderful.  Met up with an online group regarding war binders…its been an eye opener for me.

There is so much in this group from praises to prayers, from death to new life, from sickness to healing.  And though I have been a member only for a little while I feel like I have been there for YEARS.  These are solid Christian people praying and giving to one another through the good times and the tough times.  There are also a lot of new Christians getting wonderful advice and prayer info from seasoned Christians.

I can tell you that this group and I are going to be FRIENDS for many years to come.  Because the support in this crazy mixed up world is just what a lot of us need.

Having gone through so much in my first 50 years I am hoping now to have less struggles, but I don’t think that will happen as the devil is always trying to put his agenda in our face.  I will continue to love my Lord and follow HIM no matter what the situation.

I am going to leave you with this wonderful thought that I got when I put up my CROSSCARDS wall calendar for the month.

It is on my desktop (i usually use two one for first 1/2 of the month and then one for the second 1/2 of the month – this way I get to see two different pictures), but what I really want you to see is the gentle flowers pushing up through the crusty, icy, snow.  Do you think that is hard for a little plant that stands only 4-8 inches can be so strong.  The spring snows are the hardest as the weather turns and it warms enough to thaw and cold enough to freeze the snow becomes jagged like little razor edges of ice yet these little flowers push their way through.

My Crocus Prayer for you….

As the small purple crocus pushes through the last of the winter snows

So too does my light of faith push through the darkest days

When the world is troubled and dishearten with woes

My faith in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit stays.
