changing the world

I don’t believe in changing the world, as it is what it is, a broken society, a hurt and decaying hole of existence, and I know that nothing I do will matter.  Right?  WRONG!!!!!

I can change my attitude, I can look to God for guidance in my life and the lives that I touch not just physically (my family) but those I touch in cyberspace as well.  I should not be negative in posts or life, but then the devil and his friends throw much at us on a daily basis to try and get us trapped or ensnared in hurtful, and deceitful lies.  That is what most media focus on, the hurt, pain and trauma of others.  For one day if the media focused ONLY on positive stories would our thought patterns change to look for good instead of evil?  I know your saying that is not what sells news, but what IF it sold more?  What if by turning your focus on the good the media ratings go up.

Do I really need to know what happened in the life of a killer, what they were doing the night before?  NO, I need to know why the victim had to die, why their family has to bury them.  DON’T give the bad guy or girl the media hype give it to the families instead.  Why should killing be so glamorize it is not a wonderful thing it is ungodly to kill see the commandments, and you say you’re not religious, I have yet to find a country that allows murder.   Yet our society, our countries, our world focus on so much on the negatives I don’t think they could do a heartwarming story, and do it justice.  The media is so entrenched in what they think we want to see and hear that they have desensitized us to what is really important.  The care that rushes in after a disaster, the ones that rush into a burning building, the ones that race across town to help someone who has been shot.  We need to look for these unsung positives and give them their due.  Did our Lord focus on negative things or did he make the world better for being here?  I think most of you are sitting there right now reading this and wondering what did Jesus do while he was here on this earth, he healed 31 individuals and over 20 mass healings, also countless others that were maybe never wrote down.  He blessed so many while here, and yet many turned against him and crucified him.

So I wonder can you make your spot on this earth better?

Can you stop and just say hi to an older neighbor, lend a hand if you see a neighbor out raking, take 5 minutes in line and let the person behind you go first?  How about pay for the person behind you in the drive up, yep that one is always fun, if you pause long enough as you drive out you can see their expression of being dumbfounded then a smile creeps across their face it’s truly priceless to watch.

If the kids in the neighborhood are throwing the football

around maybe join in or ask if there are teams and someones short a team player or even just cheer for them when they celebrate a score, you would be amazed at the smiles that creep in, yes smiling is good for our soul, it makes all sorts of chemicals release in the brain.

So the next time you are in your favorite crowded coffee shop

                                                                                                                                   coffee-cup-01    OR  TEA SHOP

take a moment and just smile at one person then watch that smile all the way around the room as people smile at one another it’s wonderful to watch, it even happens in the grocery store (a little bit harder to follow through the aisles but it does happen)  Joy just bubbles from those of us who smile at others, and it has a way of bouncing all over the place when one person does.  So if you don’t think for one minute you can change the world, perhaps not the whole world, but lets start with just one spot,

FIND YOUR SPOT and go from there.

So look for who you can help

2 Samuel 22:36

You make your saving help my shield; your help has made me great.

Matthew 9:36

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

Acts 20:35

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

Job 9:27

If I say, ‘I will forget my complaint, I will change my expression, and smile,’

Job 29:24

When I smiled at them, they scarcely believed it; the light of my face was precious to them.

So today I leave you with this

Blessings on you today
