Beauty how deep do you see?

Was talking with some younger people about who they thought were beautiful people in our world, most named movie stars or athletes, but one named his mom, I was intrigued by this response.  I said why, he stated with out hesitation because she loves me, nurtured me while I was growing up, gave birth to me and my siblings, and did so much for me that her beauty radiates from her soul not her makeup.  It is inner beauty that I look at.  I was humbled that this young man thought so much of his mom that he deemed her beautiful.

To me beauty is like he said it needs to radiate out not lay on the shallow surface.  Jesus, was such a man, to the people around him he could have been an ordinary carpenters son, but to those who really knew him saw much more they saw the glory and grace of God radiating out from him, his posture, his words, his actions, spoke not of himself but of God.  I want that for myself to reflect so much of my savior and God and the Holy Spirit that my soul drips with beauty.  That people are drawn to me for the good and not the harsh words of this world.  For there are harsh things happening everyday.  We saw this in the bombings that took place in Boston, and the school shootings, and most recent the explosion in TX.  So how can I – a simple mom, wife, and Christian make sure that my reflection shows more of HIM and less of me.  I need to study the WORD, and Honor HIS MASTER PLAN for my life, I need to be positive in a negative world, I need to show love and compassion even when it is hard to do, I need to learn to think before I speak.

May we all strive to reflect more of God and less of ourselves on a daily basis.  I know that I will try.  How about YOU?

Let your beauty unfurl like a rose and show the deep beauty that lies within.

Psalm 50:2

From Zion, perfect in beauty, God shines forth.

Proverbs 31:30

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
1 Peter 3:4
Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.
May we all find our hidden beauty and let it shine for the world to see.
