So after losing someone in your life, your left with a hole that no one else can fill. It is a generation thing, there will be no one to be that person on the family tree ever again. No one can fill that hole…but over time it starts, the tree gently will bend to cover the spot, leaves will be added as we create new friendships, new children are added, new relationships are formed with family members…and as the years go by suddenly when you look back at the tree from a distance you see the missing branch, but now instead of a gaping hole there are small branches covering over the hole and weaving through it. It was a beautiful tree when the branch was there but now it is still beautiful in a whole new way. Is it better? No it will never be better than what we had, but is it still beautiful, yes, yes it is beautiful…
Genesis 17:7
I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.
